As the Electrical Integration RE, I'm in charge of the full design and integration of a lightweight, serviceable front and rear enclosure that passes IP65 sealing requirements for the 2026-2027 season.

Front Electrical Enclosure Design

  • Design an IP65-rated enclosure to house the VDU (Vehicle Display Unit)

  • Optimize for a lightweight design while maintaining structural integrity and serviceability

  • Heavy coordination with the electrical sub-team for electrical component positioning and chassis for vehicle packaging clearance

Rear Electrical Enclosure Design

  • Design an IP65-rated enclosure to house the BMU (Battery Management Unit) and PDU (Power Display Unit) while meeting FSAE rules

  • Careful material selection to account for EMI (Electromagnetic Interference) of the inverter while also being as lightweight as possible

  • Heavy coordination with electrical, chassis, and driveline sub-teams for mounting interface and vehicle packaging clearance
