Propulsion Responsible Engineer

As Propulsion RE for the 2026-2027 season, I own the full design, analysis, and validation of the UWFE drivetrain propulsion system including sprockets, motor and chain guard.

incoming projects

Sprockets Design/Analysis & Final Drive Ratio Simulations

  • Running analysis in MATLAB using OpenLap and OptimumLap simulations to determine the best final drive ratio for quickest lap times for each dynamic event

  • Design of 40T, 44T interchangeable sprockets in SolidWorks to quick-swap final drive ratios

  • Validate structural integrity through Ansys simulations and hand calculations

  • Design and analysis of adapter to switch sprockets without the need of full differential disassembly

Chain Guard Design

  • Design of a rules-compliant chain guard to fully enclose the chain and sprocket assembly

  • Apply DFMA principles for ease of removal and reinstallation at competition

Motor Guard Design

  • Design of a rules-compliant scatter guard to fully enclose the motor

  • Ensure clearance with surrounding drivetrain and chassis components while minimizing mass
